Junior Hockey: Drafted and played for the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League in the 1983-84 season. Played in the national Junior A tournament in Paddock Pools Michigan representing the USHL.
Division I College Hockey: Played Division I hockey for four years on a scholarship at United StatesInternationalUniversity from 1984 to 1988. His team was ranked as high as 10th in the country in the 1986-87 season. A highlight that year was defeating the #1 team in the country, University of North Dakota.
