Ice Jets Hockey understands that hockey is a game built on speed, power and endurance. The philosophy behind our Fast-twitch training revolves around the science of isokinetics and its application to sports performance. The Fast-twitch system is absolutely unique in its ability to build fast-twitch muscle strength. When training to improve performance, it is important to analyze and enhance the speed at which the athlete moves from point A to point B, the speed the extremities move in throwing or kicking an object, how quickly an athlete explodes when leaping, jumping, moving forward, backward or from side to side, or how fast the athlete reacts when placed in time-sensitive athletic situations. Each of these factors is part of the science of isokinetics.

Our Fast-twitch resistive training machines employ control of both resistance and motion during exercise. Each machine utilizes a passive hydraulic resistance mechanism that provides resistance only when the athlete pushes or pulls against it. The athlete may stop exercising at any time, and the machine will remain motionless. With other equipment types providing active resistance, the bar will continue to push against the user and possibly cause injury. Another advantage is that of bi-directional exercise. The hydraulic mechanism can provide resistance and opposing muscle groups can be trained in a single exercise. The hydraulic mechanism is virtually silent and full resistance is maintained at all speeds. With weights, users may "cheat" by moving the bar more rapidly at the beginning of a stroke and then "coasting" to the end of the stroke. The Fast-Twitch Training System has been designed to consider every movement or exercise performed by a user to be a pattern of continuously varying velocity or resistance.

8. Minimizing muscle soreness: With isokinetics the muscles are not eccentrically loaded; therefore, there is no breakdown of muscle fibers and no next-day muscle soreness.

9. Results: Overloading tissues by maximizing acceleration through complete range of motion increases the average power output by 45% over acceleration-limited weight stacks or free weight devices.
