Chris Shakesby is entering his 3rd year of coaching. Chris was born in Montreal, Canada and began playing hockey at the age of 4. Chris played the majority of his youth hockey career in the metroplex playing AA/AAA hockey for various organizations.  At the age of 16, Chris graduated early from high school to concentrate on playing hockey and play at the next level.

Chris played Junior hockey for the Leamington Flyers of the WOHL and the Port Hope Predators of the OPJHL. During Chris’s playing career he learned many different views from a variety of outstanding coaches including Butch Ott (the father of Stars forward Steve Ott) and Bart Crashley, a member of the original six Detroit Red Wings. During Chris’s coaching career he has been an assistant coach for U16 prep Alliance Bulldogs, Assistant Coach for Plano East JV, assistant Coach for McKinney JV, as well as Head Coach for MIHC Bantams.
 
Chris holds a level 4 coaching certification through USA hockey. He currently gives private lessons to youth hockey players trying to make it to the next level. Chris' views on hockey include hard work, dedication, and discipline. As a coach, Chris brings with him a vast amount of knowledge, high energy, and love and dedication to the game of hockey. He knows what it takes to make it to the next level, and is looking forward to advancing as many players as he can, and to giving back to the game he loves.
